The Metzeler ME 888 MARATHON ULTRA 170/60R17 78V is a touring motorcycle tyre designed for long distance road use and riders seeking high mileage with stable handling. It is aimed at heavy touring and cruiser motorcycles where comfort and endurance are essential. The tyre places emphasis on consistent performance across varied road surfaces over extended journeys.

The silica‑enhanced compound and optimized tread profile promote uniform heat build‑up and support mileage gains without compromising wet performance. A continuous centre band improves the contact patch for steady straight line stability while shoulder tread elements enhance wet cornering grip. The construction balances damping for good riding comfort and controlled steering response.

For the rider this results in calm behaviour at speed and reliable braking feel in mixed weather. The tyre also contributes to more predictable wear patterns and hence longer intervals between replacements. Overall it is a well‑balanced option for touring riders who demand endurance, wet weather confidence and a comfortable ride.
